This 8 hour comprehensive workshop can be completed as one full day or two consecutive half days. Taught by lampwork glass artist Justin Rossi, this introductory course comprises basic lampwork safety, setup and techniques. A variety of hollow and solid shaping techniques will be addressed based upon students interests and ability. Course content can include hand blown glass beads, pendants, marbles, sculpture, goblets, pipe art, perfume vessels, and much more. No prior experience is necessary for Intro to Borosilicate Flameworking. You get to keep the glass art you create during the workshops, it will be ready the following day after annealing in the kiln overnight. This workshop is taught on a one on one basis, or in pairs if you and a friend would like to participate in the course together. Workshops are usually held during the week, however weekend workshops can also be arranged to suit your schedule. Introduction to Lampwork Glass Beadmaking

In this introductory course instructed by lampwork bead artist Amy Rossi, students will be introduced to the basics of mandrel wound Moretti glass beadmaking. The workshop will begin with lampwork safety and setup, followed by instructor demonstration and student trial of a variety of bead shaping and decorating techniques. In the workshop, students will learn to make round mandrel spun beads out of opaque and transparent Moretti glass. Students will learn to pull thin stringers of glass and apply them to the hand spun glass beads in a variety of decorative applications. All materials are included, and you get to keep the beads you make in the workshop. Beads will be ready for pickup the following day after we anneal and clean them for you, or we can post your beads to you at no extra charge. This workshop is taught on a one on one basis, or in pairs if you and a friend would like to participate in the course together. Beadmaking instruction is usually held during the week, however weekend workshops can also be arranged to suit your schedule. Introduction to Lampwork Glass Beadmaking requires no prior experience and can be completed as a full day course or two consecutive half days.
